The author of chapbooks Fatherland, Motherland and …and this would be Moshiach, Leo Rose Rodriguez is a queer, diasporic Jewish writer and artist. Formerly based in Minneapolis/Bde Óta Oṭuƞwe/Gakaabikang, they now live in Toronto/Tkaronto, where they are studying for a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at the University of Guelph.
Leo has been creating stories since before he could hold a pencil. His work has been collected by the Hennepin County Library, Quatrefoil Library, and elsewhere. A full list of publications can be found here. Their first play, The Martyr, debuted at SheDFW Arts Festival in Dallas, in September of 2024.
When not writing, reading, or making art, Leo spends their time listening to punk rock, engaging in their Jewish community, and admiring mushrooms.
